BlogNewsSuccessful Compassionate Release Case

May 13, 2020

Pinales Stachler is pleased to announce the compassionate release of a client from federal prison. A federal judge from the Eastern District of Kentucky found that the client’s medical conditions, in conjunction with the COVID-19 outbreak in prisons, warranted a reduction in the client’s sentence to time served and ordered immediate release.

The COVID-19 virus is spreading quickly in prisons. Social distancing is impossible, necessary sanitizing and cleaning products are either banned or difficult to obtain, and resources are limited. Pinales Stachler, in partnership with Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM), will continue to pursue Compassionate Releases pursuant to the CARES Act for clients at high risk of severe illness should they contract the COVID-19 virus.
